Unfortunately I did not document the process of me making and designing my DIY windscreen. Much like a lot of other budget dual sport riders, I chose to make my own! I was inspired by "fmlstewart" on YouTube.
I changed the design slightly to make sure the wind did not buffer with my helmet, but followed the main design. For two riding seasons I decided to use heavy duty velcro to mount it onto my bike. Since then I have "upgraded" from the velcro and am using automotive clips, similar to ones listed here: (non-affiliate link)

It holds great at speed, and if I do end up going over the bars when I am riding trails I am not worried about the windscreen injuring me.
I have used a "screen for bikes" windscreen for a short time, but when riding on a gravel road I had a rock fly up and crack the screen in half, I have then went back to my DIY shield, and have not looked back.
